Fans are rallying to save "The Acolyte" from Disney's cancellation, with numerous media outlets, including myself, arguing that this decision was a mistake. Critics claim the cancellation caters to a vocal "anti-woke" fanbase and highlights Disney's reluctance to move beyond the well-trodden Skywalker era.
Now, even the show's cast is speaking out. Reactions range from confusion to clear frustration. Lee Jung-jae, who starred in the first season and was (spoiler alert) killed off in the finale, expressed his dismay over the cancellation. Despite not returning for another season, he was eager to see the show continue and was shocked by the news. In an interview with EW, he shared:
“Personally speaking, I really loved Leslye’s writing. I thought she was a great writer and director, with a real talent for storytelling, creating characters, and building meaningful story structures. I was genuinely looking forward to watching a second season with her at the helm.”
