 While Major League Soccer teams have been dominant in the Leagues Cup tournament so far, one Liga MX club could still turn the tide. 

Club America, North America's most decorated soccer team, with a record 15 Liga MX titles and seven Concacaf Champions Cup/League championships, is poised to make an impact.

Club America advanced to the Leagues Cup quarterfinals with a thrilling comeback victory over St. Louis City SC. Now, they face a surprising opponent: the Colorado Rapids.

Although Club America might seem favored on paper, the Rapids have been on a roll, securing three consecutive wins over Liga MX teams. They defeated 2023 Concacaf Champions League winner Club León in a penalty shootout during the group stage and went on to beat Juárez and Toluca in the knockout rounds.

The winner of the Club America vs. Colorado Rapids quarterfinal will move on to face the victor of the Seattle Sounders vs. Los Angeles FC matchup in the semifinals.
